With the SPIN 900 | 1200, we replace the open gel fuel container with the patented Bio-Burner, which creates a brighter and more distinctive flame thanks to sophisticated burner technology, with a burning time up to 33% longer – while using the same amount of liquid bioethanol.

How is the distinctive flame whirl created?
The fascinating fire whirl is no coincidence – but the result of sophisticated physics and precise design. Here’s how it works:
- höfats bioethanol is ignited – clean, safe and odourless.
- The heat-resistant borosilicate glass cylinder is placed on the burner.
- The wings of the rotor set the incoming air into a rotating motion.
- This motion is transferred to the flame.
- The resulting thermals and the updraft in the glass amplify the effect. The so-called chimney effect occurs.
The result: The flame grows more than 500% in height – a safe, enclosed fire whirl extending over the entire length of the cylinder. And all this without any additional energy!

Do I have to clean my fuel gel container?
Yes, but it is sufficient to rinse the gel fuel gel cup with detergent or simply put it in the dishwasher after use. You do not need to do this after every use. If the glass is dirty, clean it with washing-up liquid and plenty of water. Stainless steel parts can be treated with lemon balm.
Can I use the SPIN indoors?
Yes, the SPIN can be used both indoors and outdoors. We are very proud to be one of the few brands whose tabletop fireplaces are approved for indoor use according to DIN EN 16647. All the important criteria, such as any exhaust values, are tested within this DIN standard.
Is it possible to upgrade the SPIN 90 | 120 to SPIN 900 | 1200 by purchasing the Bio-Burner?
Yes, by purchasing the Bio-Burner and the matching höfats liquid bioethanol and inserting the Bio-Burner into your SPIN instead of the gel fuel cup you automatically upgrade your SPIN 90 | 120 to a SPIN 900 | 1200.
Which bioethanol do I use for SPIN?
We recommend using only our bioethanol for the SPIN. Care must be taken to use the correct bioethanol: Liquid (green cap) for all SPIN with bio-burner and gel (black cap) for all SPIN with gel fuel cup. Our bioethanol burns odourless and soot-free and is certified in accordance with DIN 16647 so that it can also be used indoors. If you use other bioethanol you may experience strong odours and soot. It is also possible that the flame is barely visible, very large or very small.
